I’d wanted to just sit here and write a whole bunch of nice encouraging things when a conversation with someone stirred up my gut and now I’m not feeling so well. It wasn’t the person, just their seemingly innocent questions.

And so it got me thinking.

Why do we let so much just enter right into our heart and mind when we haven’t even considered before and beside the Lord whether it is something to take into our heart and mind?

I’d been learning the past few years about discernment and wisdom. And it seems to be that the wise are slow to take things personally before they take them to the King of Hearts. And the discerning seem to be so enlightened of who they are in Christ that those things which are not to be taken inward are instead released upward as the wipe their clean hands of it.

And so. Let me encourage you as I do so myself. There are a lot of words said in this world. Trust me, I’m a talker. I know. But there are very few that matter. I encourage you to take the facts given to you, and hear deeply in your heart the truth which can only fully come from the King of Hearts, the Lord.

“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart:
Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.” Isaiah 51.7 & 8
